Due to HypoPara, you may experience muscle cramps associated with low blood calcium levels. Muscle cramps can happen suddenly and are often painful. However, there are ways to help gain some quick relief when cramping occurs. Try these techniques once a muscle cramp starts:

Gently stretch and massage the cramping muscle

For calf cramps: Stand up, put your weight on the affected leg, and bend your knee slightly.
For hamstring cramps: Sit down, straighten out the affected leg, and pull the top of your foot toward your head.

Apply heat to tense or tight muscles

Apply ice to sore or tender muscles
